Alcohol is always around us and the harm caused by alcohol is very serious in Korea and the world. Systematic research and response is required. The scope of harm includes not only the physical aspect, but also the psychological, social, and economic aspects. Therefore, in order to solve the problem of alcohol, improvement of awareness is required as well as a multidimensional approach.
This institute has been established to study (research) personal, social, and national harms caused by alcohol and develop abstinence programs to prevent alcohol harm to individuals, groups, organizations and communities; and develop a modern national alcohol policy to ensure a safe social environment and healthy drinking culture and settlement of a progressive national alcohol policy.
I ask for your continued interest in this Institute's scientific, logical and systematic research activities.
